Fly Wheels – the craze of 2005 – Official!! So the UK toy industry is looking for a craze to ignite spring business? Look no further than Fly Wheels from JAKKS Pacific, distributed by Vivid Imaginations - this SRP £4.99 collectable performance wheels brand is set to achieve UK sales in excess of a million units based on early sales trends.
Fly Wheels made their retail debut over half term holiday with TV advertising support. The consumer response was extraordinary. Retail stocks were depleted within days and Vivid is now replenishing as fast as possible and re-ordering significant quantities from JAKKS Pacific.
“We have not seen early retail sales like this on boys collectables since Pokemon," states Paul Weston, Vivid Managing Director. “It is a toy that delivers great play performance and the TV commercial is one of the strongest we have seen. Now the big challenge, as usual, will be acquiring enough stock to keep our shelves full in spring as the craze has also hit big in USA, Australia and Europe simultaneously. Clearly we are delighted that our first product launch with JAKKS Pacific is such a resounding success.”
The Fly Wheels range will be expanded for autumn to include playsets, multi-launchers and customisation kits for enhanced performance. Retail price points from £4.99 SRP to £29.99 SRP will be in place by August. Vivid Imaginations are projecting retail sales of around £12-13 million for 2005 on the Fly Wheels brand.
