Fifi looks set to top Christmas Toy Chart for Preschoolers: Fifi and the Flowertots, the toy line based on the highly successful television show which airs on Milkshake and Nick Jr looks set to be the surprise hit for Christmas after early sales results from retailers. The show, produced by Chapman Entertainment, animated by Cosgrove Hall Films and created by Bob The Builder originator Keith Chapman has been a consistent ratings hit since it arrived on TV screens in May this year. From the most up to date ratings information for July, Fifi was the most watched preschool programme on terrestrial TV amongst both Housewives with children 0-3 and children 4-6 years on Five’s Milkshake block.
The TV show has made Fifi and her friends Bumble, Primrose and Violet into household names for preschoolers across the country. Britain’s leading toy-maker Vivid Imaginations has over 12 toys and games available currently in the Fifi range and has been over-whelmed with early demand from the public.” We are looking at sales levels 5-6 times higher than originally planned,” stated Emma Sherski, Vivid’s Licensing and Marketing Director.” We always knew the TV show was highly original, entertaining and offered strong characters but we are still bowled over by public interest. Our consumer helpline has been inundated with mothers asking where they can buy Fifi and the Flowertots toys .We just hope we can keep retailers in stock of Fifi toys in the run-up to Christmas.”
Argos buyer Lindsay Musselwhite claims “Fifi and the Flowertots is the hottest new preschool toy range at Argos and looks like being the next blockbuster hit for under fives!”
Fifi and the Flowertots TV advertising focuses on Talking Fifi and Fifi’s Forget-Me-Not Cottage – the campaign will generate 480 TVRs and will run to end November. New product plans for 2006 are already being accelerated based on current success.
