12 Apr 2005 Bratz has clear lead in fashion doll battle. Bratz – the dolls with a passion for fashion – have been confirmed as clear market leader in the fashion doll sector in the UK for the first quarter of 2005, according to data released today by retail audit group NPD Inc.
Bratz achieved 45.5% market share for Q1. One year ago Bratz share was just 32.2%!
“We are not surprised by Bratz progress to clear number one brand as the growth trend has been evident for a long time,” stated Nick Austin, Vivid Imaginations CEO. “With Bratz Babyz and Bratz Sportz performing so strongly our belief is that the gap with the nearest competitor will widen further. With Bratz Rock Angels multi media and toy launch to follow we are expecting another record year for the brand with UK/Ireland toy sales alone exceeding £110 million at retail.”
Isaac Larian, CEO MGA Entertainment adds,” We see this trend everywhere .This is the 5th year anniversary for Bratz and consumers have spoken. We expect our market share to grow even further this year when our exciting new lines are introduced later this year.”
