Dinosaur King, the hit animated television series distributed by 4Kids Entertainment, Inc (NYSE: KDE), has made a spectacular start on GMTV’s Action Stations channel in the 7.40am slot every weekday morning. In just its second week Dinosaur King was the best performing show on the station.
Coupled with strong Jetix rating performances , a strong toy debut with UK toy distributer Vivid Imaginations and a proven track-record with Upper Deck trading cards, Dinosaur King is living up to its billing as the potential “big news” boys “Toy sales and TV ratings are beyond our wildest dreams,” stated Paul Weston , Vivid’s UK Chief Executive. “With our TV commercials yet to break at Easter and NPD confirming Dinosaur King as one of the biggest new toy properties in January and February we have got the dream start we wanted and are now busy looking to expand the toy line in 2010.

One of the leading TV toy items, the Dinosaur King Card Swiper, looks like a possible “break-out” product with forecast sales in excess of 110,000 units for 2009. TV advertising for the Vivid line kicks off on 23rd March and continues across the year with 540 TVRs. Dinosaur King chronicles the adventures of Max, Rex and Zoe, known as the “D Team,” who race around the world to uncover secrets that bring dinosaurs back to life.
The biggest challenge for the three young heroes in this unforgettable global race is to find all the dinosaur cards before the nefarious Alpha Gang. Set in the present time, Max, Rex and Zoe are able to transport themselves anywhere in the world to hunt down the coveted cards that have been lost by the time-traveling Dr. Z and his bumbling team of bad guys.
